A major produce wholesaler operating across Zimbabwe faced significant logistical bottlenecks. Acting as the critical link between hundreds of rural farms and urban retail centers, their operations were highly time-sensitive. The Challenge

The primary challenge was tracking perishable goods—which require strict temperature control and fast turnaround—from the moment they left the farm gate to the moment they arrived at the distribution center. Drivers would hand in physical dockets at the end of the day, meaning the operations center was always hours behind reality. This lack of visibility led to severe stock discrepancies, inefficient routing of transport fleets, and unacceptable levels of produce spoilage.

The Solution

Cosmonaut Labs developed a centralized, offline-capable logistics dashboard. We engineered a robust web application for the operations center and a lightweight, Progressive Web App (PWA) for the truck drivers. The system allowed drivers to log pickups and drop-offs instantly, storing data locally if they were out of network range, and automatically syncing it to the central database the moment a connection was established.
